Our logo is composed of two snakes in the shape of a double helix. The double helix is the structure of DNA, or life. We liked the symbolism because the core concept of Synergie is to sustain life and livelihoods. At Synergie we believe that a product made by hand, with care and intention, incorporates the energy of life. And imbues the environment in which it is placed with a sense of joie de vie and j’en ne se quoi.
We took the snakes from the caduceus (not to be confused with the Rod of Asclepius which is the medical symbol!) because in early Greek times the caduceus was the symbol of Hermes, the messenger of the Gods and Mother Earth.
The spelling of Synergie is French. We chose it because we thought it looked prettier than the English spelling.
Our tag line—art, philosophy, meaning—encapsulates the Synergie experience: We sell art, applying a philosophy of fairness, and thereby giving positive meaning to the market exchange.
